📌 Here’s what you’ll learn:
Meta is the latest tech company to restrict the tools used to track ICE agents on its platform. Earlier this month, Apple and Google banned downloads of phone apps that suggested seeing American immigration agents, just hours after the Trump administration demanded the removal of one particularly popular iPhone app.
Such tracking puts Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at risk, Bondi said. But users and app developers say they have a First Amendment right to capture what ICE is doing in their neighborhoods — and they contend that most users are turning to these platforms in an attempt to protect their safety as President Donald Trump ramps up enforcement of tough immigration laws across the country.
