Michail Antonio is in talks with Qatari club Al-Sailiya as well as Championship side Charlton Athletic, as he looks to return to regular football after a near-fatal car accident.
The former West Ham striker is keen to return to regular football and is currently training at Charlton’s base in south-east London.
Negotiations are ongoing with both clubs.
The 35-year-old played for Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in June after recovering from the accident in December 2024.
West Ham released Antonio last August, then he trained for a short period with Leicester City before suffering a slight setback.
After Charlton’s defeat by Portsmouth on Saturday, manager Nathan Jones said there was “nothing yet” to announce, but added that “the wheels are still moving.”
In an exclusive interview with the BBC in March 2025, the striker said he felt like he was “about to die” after the incident in Essex, and that he believed he had been given “another chance at life”.
“I shattered my femur in four different places,” he said.
“I had one keyhole operation. They put a post in my thigh with four screws, so it’s held back together with screws and screws.
“My first surgeon said he didn’t want me to put any weight on my leg for three months, which is almost the case now, and you can see I’m walking.
“We got a second specialist who said I needed to start gaining weight from 10% to 100% within three weeks.
“But I kept my crutches on for another two weeks. In general, they say it will take between six and 12 months before my leg starts to heal properly.”
