Sporting Club Jacksonville, or Sporting JAX as it is more commonly known, was founded in 2020 in Florida. The first ever professional women’s team from the city is currently at the top of the USL Super League in its inaugural season, while the men’s team has now begun its first season in the USL Championship – the second tier in the United States. But how do you start a football club from scratch – from deciding club colors to designing the badge, from football philosophy to values ​​and ethos? How does the new club bring together players, coaches, employees and fans? BBC’s Lee James was joined by sporting director Mark Warburton, club president and CEO Steve Livingstone and women’s team captain Sophie Jones to discuss how they took the team from concept to ground zero.
