MS Dhoni laughs at his own imitation during the pre-IPL 2026 event [Watch]

Former Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, MS Dhoni, laughed at his own imitation done by a mimic artist ahead of the IPL 2026 season. The artist imitated the legendary wicket-keeper-batsman through the latter’s amazing knocks and feats in his career.

Finally, he thanked Dhoni for giving him the opportunity to perform opposite the legendary cricketer. A visibly moved Donnie praised the artist for his imitation at the end of the show.

MS Dhoni is one of the most accomplished cricketers in international cricket and the Indian Premier League. The 44-year-old is India’s captain and the most successful player in the Indian Premier League in terms of wins.

Dhoni also led India to three ICC titles between 2007 and 2013, while captaining CSK in all five of their IPL victories. Moreover, the glovesman is also India’s sixth-highest run-scorer in ODIs with 10,599 runs in 347 outings.

He is also the sixth highest run-scorer of all time in the Indian Premier League with 5,439 runs in 278 matches. Apart from batting and captaincy, Dhoni also stands third all-time in wicket disposals with 829 in 538 ODIs.

MS Dhoni will return to action in IPL 2026

MS Dhoni will return for the 19th IPL season when the 2026 edition begins after the T20 World Cup in India. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman has continued to feature in the Indian Premier League.

After leading CSK to their fifth IPL title in 2023, Dhoni relinquished the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the 2024 season. However, the Men in Yellow suffered back-to-back poor seasons in 2024 and 2025.

After missing out on the playoffs in 2024, CSK finished last in the standings for the first time in their rich history in 2025. Dhoni led the team for most of the 2025 season after Gaikwad was ruled out due to injury for five matches in the season.

The legendary skipper had a sub-par 2025 IPL season, averaging just under 25 at a strike rate of 135.17 in 14 outings.
