London Pulse finished second to the Thunder thanks to their 62-51 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
Olivia Cheney led the way for the Pulse with 48 goals while Anya Williams was top scorer for Forest with 31 goals.
The Pulse win helped them finish on 36 points and move one point above Loughborough who jumped into second place.
Thunder and Pulse will compete in the ‘Main’ semi-final with the winner qualifying directly to the Grand Final.
Third-placed Lightning play fourth-placed Forest in the ‘minor’ semi-final.
The winner of the ‘minor’ semi-final faces the losing side of the ‘major’ semi-final for a place in the grand final, which takes place on June 20 in Manchester at the Co-op Live Arena.
Pulse captain Zara Everitt, who was player of the match against Forest, praised her teammates’ resilience to overcome Forest and secure second place.
“Getting to the grand semi-final means a lot. It’s true to say that this season has been more difficult than last season,” Everett told Sky Sports.
“We had some injuries and some sticky patches but we eventually made it to the semi-finals and we can’t wait to show what we can do.”
