NFL Fans Rip JJ McCarthy For ‘Opting Out’ From Vikings Over Apparent Injury vs. Packers

JJ McCarthy has had a challenging 2025 AFL season, marked by a mix of ups and downs and plagued by recurring injuries. It’s no surprise that the Vikings quarterback ended his 2025 NFL season with another injury, albeit with a twist.

McCarthy apparently took himself out of the game with a hand injury in the third quarter.

However, NFL fans were not so sympathetic to the quarterback resting himself. They flooded the comments sections, ripping the 22-year-old apart.

“This guy is a loser,” one fan said.

“His career as a Viking is over,” another said.

“I’m sorry but this kid is pathetic. One of the smoothest NFL players I’ve ever seen,” another tweeted.

Another said: “He doesn’t have that guy. Sad!”

Another commented: “It’s over. They’re definitely bringing competition next year. He’s his ass and made of glass too.”

McCarthy and the Vikings won the final game of the 2025 regular season 16-3 against the Green Bay Packers.
