Ilya Dragunov faced Tama Tonga on SmackDown Live. Tonga had a huge win over Dragunov and proceeded to send him a message on social media.

Dragunov is a former United States champion and has been in the main picture for some time. He dropped the title to Carmelo Hayes, but was on good terms with the newly crowned champion, with whom he teamed on SmackDown.

On social media, Tonga shared a photo of his chest after Dragunov repeatedly chopped him in the match. The Tag Team Champion claimed that he had not been dealt such a brutal beating since his father, Haku.

“Seems effective to me. No one has cut me like that since I popped mine. Touché Dragunov,” Tonga wrote.

Tama Tonga sent a message after defeating Ilya Dragunov on SmackDown Live

Tama Tonga sent a message to the fans after defeating Ilya Dragunov on SmackDown. The tag team champion has bragged about the fact that he has been in the professional wrestling industry for two decades and is making great strides after joining the Stamford-based company.

Tonga said, in an interview on social media:

“Hey, this is Mr. Two-Time SmackDown Tag Team Champion. You’ve been in WWE twice for two years. You better watch out now, ballplayer boy now. Ballplayer boy. I’ve been in this game for almost 20 years, I just joined WWE and I’m already making strides all together. This here put us on the WWE map. I’m on the books forever now. You have nothing to say. Nothing.”

The MFTs compete with The Wyatt Sicks, and next week, Solo Sikoa will face Uncle Howdy in a singles match. Backstage at SmackDown last week, Shinsuke Nakamura also told Tonga that he will always be in Sekoa’s shadow and will never be his own man. It remains to be seen how the Nakamura-Tonga story will unfold.
