Galatasaray also confirmed that Victor Osimhen suffered a fracture in his right forearm during the first half.

The Nigerian striker fell holding his arm after a challenge with Ibrahima Konate in the eighth minute, but he continued playing until he was replaced by Leroy Sane in the first half.

Galatasaray said: “After the match, the tests conducted in the hospital under the supervision of our medical team revealed that our player had a fracture in his right forearm, and a splint was placed.”

“A decision on surgery will be made in the coming days after further assessment.”

Boruc complained about referee Pawel Raczkowski making the decision after Osimhen was injured.

“Looking at Osimhen’s position, we saw that Konate was able to make these mistakes very easily, and he could easily apply any type of foul,” Boruc said.

“While we were expecting the best referee in the world, perhaps one of the worst referees officiated the match.”

Liverpool will face defending champion Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.
