Nottingham Forest The club has signed defender Luca Neitz from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The left-back signed a four-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground on deadline day.
He will provide competition for Neco Williams after Oleksandr Zinchenko’s loan from Arsenal to join Ajax was cancelled.
The move comes after Forest, 17th in the Premier League, failed to make three offers for Celtic midfielder Arne Engels.
“Nottingham Forest is a great club with a unique history,” Neitz said. “I was immediately excited by the opportunity to play for this club in the Premier League.”
“I am ready for a new challenge and the next step in my career.”
Neets came from the academy at Hertha Berlin and joined Gladbach in 2021, playing 124 games for them.
The German made his debut in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin at the age of 17, and also played 17 international matches for the German U-21 national team.
Edo Gaspar, Forest’s global head of football, said: “Part of the model is adding talented young players to the squad who can grow with us.
He added: “Despite his age, Luca has played more than 100 games at the highest level in Germany, so we are signing a player with a good mix of potential and experience.”
He added: “With his ability to play on the left side, Luca brings balance to our team and we are all looking forward to seeing him settle in at Nottingham and contribute for the rest of the season and beyond.”
