✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:
Palantir said Thursday it has entered into a partnership with Lumen Technologies that will see the telco use the data management company’s AI software to build capabilities to support enterprise AI services.
The companies describe the deal as a “multi-year, multi-million-dollar strategic partnership,” but Bloomberg reported, citing anonymous sources, that Lumen will spend more than $200 million on Palantir’s technology over several years.
The agreement will see Lumen pair Palantir’s Foundry and Artificial Intelligence (AIP) platform with its edge computing, broadband infrastructure and other digital services.
This partnership comes as Lumen attempts to transform itself from a traditional telecommunications provider into a more modern technology infrastructure. The company said in September that it was “collaborating” with Palantir to integrate the latter’s Foundry and AI software and services into its financial and technology operations and functions, “to rapidly transform its network and services.”
Although Lumen did not confirm the value of the deal, spokesman Joe Goode told TechCrunch in an email that the company’s use of Palantir’s technology was a “material contributor” to achieving $350 million in cost reductions in 2025. He added that what the companies learned during this collaboration informed their decision to move their partnership into the enterprise market. Lumen has committed to cutting costs by $1 billion by 2027, and says it’s already ahead of the plan.
“Palantir has proven that its Foundry and AIP platforms can unlock Lumen data faster and cheaper than traditional data lake migrations, and together we are seeking solutions to help large enterprises do the same,” Judd said.
For Palantir, this is the latest in a long line of deals for which it has partnered with companies and government organizations from across the board to sell its AI products and services. Including the Lumen deal, Palantir has struck 19 partnerships this year alone, across aviation, healthcare, telecommunications, contract management, data management, defense and more sectors.

“By bringing AI to real-world operations through a connected ecosystem, we are enabling companies to reinvent how they operate, compete and grow,” Kate Johnson, CEO of Lumen Technologies, said in a statement.
Palantir did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
