It’s the final duel of the season between Partick Thistle and St Johnstone on Friday evening as they battle it out for the Scottish Championship title, and the match will be broadcast live on BBC Scotland and iPlayer.
Thistle manager Mark Wilson is in no doubt about the importance of the match.
“Realistically, if we want to win the league, of course we have to look at getting the maximum number of points,” said Wilson, whose side are eight points behind St Johnstone but have a game in hand.
Thistle will also have to do it the hard way with injuries to key players.
“Tony [Watt] He came out with a hamstring strain [against Greenock Morton] Wilson explained: “We thought we had caught it in time, but the scan showed it was something very significant and would keep him out for six to eight weeks.”
“Logan Chalmers was injured before the St Mirren game. He had a groin strain for six to eight weeks.
“And Oisin [Smyth] He has a ligament problem. “I completed the Arbroath game and look again in six to eight weeks.”
“So we were very unfortunate in that regard with all three of them missing such a long period of time from the race.”
