PDC World Darts Championship: Beau Greaves – How far can you get in Ally Pally?

Greaves is officially ranked 120th in the PDC World Rankings, which are based on prize money, and her ranking is likely to rise when she joins the main tour.

Humphreys added: “In the women’s series, winning every time, it becomes a repetitive feeling. Once you get into the main round and you lose a lot, it can really shake your confidence.”

“But she will gain experience from it and playing against the best players week after week will make her a better player.

“If she was at this level now, give her two or three years and I think she would be in the top 32, maybe even in the top 16 or close to it. She has a great shot, a good temperament, and she is good under pressure as well.”

As for this world championship, Greaves will face world number 42 Callan Reeds in the second round if she beats Gurney, with 11th seed Josh Rock a possible opponent in the third round.

“Falon Sherrock has gone a few rounds, but Beau Greaves can go further,” says Matt Edgar, who has made three appearances in the PDC World Championship.

“She can go deep, she’s got form, and I wouldn’t be surprised in a few years if we’re talking about Beau Greaves being one of the favorites in this event once she gains more experience.

“She has shown that she can compete with the best in the world.”
