Britain’s Dakota Decheva will return from a hand injury when she faces Dutch Denise Kielholtz in a flyweight fight in Dubai on February 7.
Decheva broke her hand during her victory over Sumiko Inaba last July, so the 27-year-old player, who had not suffered any defeat, won her fifteenth match in a row.
The fight against Inaba was Ditcheva’s first since winning the 2024 PFL flyweight championship as she became the first British woman to become an MMA world champion.
She stopped 13 of her 15 opponents, winning 12 of them by knockout, building a reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting fighters.
In the 36-year-old Kielholtz, Decheva faces a former kickboxing world champion who has won eight of her 13 professional fights.
The bout forms part of the AFL’s Road to Dubai event which is headlined by Russia’s Usman Nurmagomedov’s lightweight title defense against Britain’s Alfie Davis.
Like Dycheva, Davis is a PFL Championship winner with the 33-year-old winning the lightweight division this year, before securing the title shot against Nurmagomedov.
The PFL welterweight belt will also be on the line at Coca-Cola Arena as Ramzan Kuramagomedov defends the belt against fellow Russian Shamil Musayev in the co-main event.
