💡 Here’s what you’ll learn:
Poe, the Quora app that brings together different AI models into one platform, is launching a group chat function. The company announced Monday that users around the world will be able to start group conversations with up to 200 other people, then collaborate across more than 200 AI models — including text, image, video and audio generators — in a single conversation.
The launch comes just days after OpenAI’s ChatGPT began trialling group chats in markets such as Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan. This move could transform the chatbot from a one-on-one AI interaction into a collaborative space where users can also interact with friends, family or colleagues.
Adding group chats to Poe could enable new types of interactive experiences for AI users, Quora says. For example, the company suggests that families or friends can use the feature to plan a trip together using the Gemini 2.5 and o3 Deep Research’s search function. Teams can also work together to brainstorm ideas for mood boards using the different sample images on Poe, or groups can play trivia games together using one of the quiz bots on the app.
Group chats will allow users to work together using any combination of AI models or bots made by creators, including models like Claude 4.5 Sonnet, Eleven Labs v3, Eleven Labs Music, Nano Banana, GPT-5.1, Kling 2.5 Turbo Pro, o3 Deep Research, Sora 2 Pro, Veo 3.1, and others.
Poe users can start a group chat from the app’s home screen on the poe.com website. As you chat, your chat history will be synced in real-time across your devices, so you can start chatting on desktop and then move to a mobile device without losing the thread.
Quora has been developing this feature over the past six months and plans to continue improving group chats in the weeks following its launch, based on user feedback.
“We believe the space of potential AI-mediated group interactions and opportunities for AI collaboration is vast and currently unexplored,” the company shared in its announcement. “The product we’re unlocking today also allows anyone to create a custom bot on Poe and share it with others for use in their own groups, and we’re excited to see the use cases everyone discovers.”
