✅ **What You’ll Learn**:
Their opening opponent on Thursday night is also a newcomer to the Premier League.
Van Veen, 23, has had a breakout year, reaching the World Championship final in January after winning the European Championship in 2025. He is also a consecutive World Youth Champion.
However, Rock added that he did not have “one iota” of sympathy for Van Veen if he faced a hostile reaction in Belfast.
“It happened to me when we played in Holland last year,” Rock said.
“I’d be surprised if he didn’t get booed, but I think he’ll get booed the whole game. Van Veen has adapted to the crowd and I think he’ll be fine.”
“It’s going to be very noisy. We haven’t had a Northern Ireland player since 2019 [Daryl Gurney] So I hope everything turns out well.”
It has been an exciting start to the Premier League with three different winners so far.
Michael van Gerwen, Gerwen Price and Johnny Clayton won the opening nights of the 16-week league stage ahead of the qualifiers at the O2 Arena on 28 May.
He added: “It is good to see different winners, but the English Premier League is very different from the major tournaments.”
“Luke Littler won his first Grand Slam of the year, it’s a shock. Who was in the final? Luke Humphries.
“When it comes to the top rankings, it’s hard to look beyond Luke then anyone else when we’re in the Premier League.”
