💡 Here’s what you’ll learn:
It didn’t go City’s way when they beat Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium, but they dismantled them in the end and they are capable of doing the same at the Stadium of Light.
It’s hard to see anyone stopping City at the moment. Rayan Sharqi is a great talent, with great speed. Phil Foden almost scored against Forest on Saturday, and when Haaland draws an empty-netter, as he did in that game, you know the goal is not far away.
However, Sunderland have the strength to beat Arsenal, and they are well organized defensively as well.
That’s why they haven’t lost at home this season, and I feel sorry for writing them off so much, but I’m sorry to say I would do it again.
I feel like City have found their flow so I can’t take on them, but I expect Sunderland to put up a tough fight.
Sutton predictions: 1-3
Tom’s predictions: My heart tells me one thing, and my mind tells me another!
In my heart, this is the game we just win. I don’t know if we will, but even just the fact that we’re at home to City on New Year’s Day again gives me that feeling – I have very good memories of Ji Dong-won beating them on 1 January 2012.
However, for my head, it would be difficult. We had chances at the Etihad Stadium a few weeks ago, but to be realistic, I think we need a full-strength team to get anything from City, and we don’t have that at the moment because we lost players to the Africa Cup of Nations.
We certainly won’t have enough to win the game, but I would never say we’ll be beaten – I can’t do that. So, with my fingers crossed, I will say we will put our noses forward but then City will increase the pressure and I don’t see us absorbing it and holding on. 1-1
Artificial Intelligence Predictions: 0-3
