📌 Main takeaway:
It’s usually a good match when these two teams meet, but, this time, I think both sets of fans are unsure about their team’s performance.
At Tottenham, poor Thomas Frank is having a tough time.
He was so angry after their defeat at Nottingham Forest that he said he felt like there was a tornado inside him.
I can understand why he was so angry, because Tottenham were very weak and did very little in that match.
If you look at their position in the table, 11th place, you will find that they are in good form but it is their performance that is lacking something. They never found any fluency under Frank.
They have won their last two home games and Frank can hold on to that, but the way Spurs fans think: “It was only against Brentford and Slavia Prague.”
Winning this game would be more than just a statement.
Despite Mohamed Salah’s departure for the Africa Cup of Nations, there are still questions about Liverpool as well.
Brighton had their moments last week and it wasn’t exactly comfortable for Arne Slott’s side, although I thought Hugo Ekitiki was excellent.
Liverpool could have another problem at right-back because Joe Gomez went off injured in that match. Dominik Szoboszlai was their best player in midfield, so if he recovers from the knock he suffered against the Seagulls but has to return there, it will be a huge blow.
I certainly don’t trust Tottenham to come, but I don’t think you can completely trust Liverpool again either, especially away from home in the Premier League.
Because of all that, I can’t support either of them winning it.
