Rangers have ‘huge belief’ after Danny Ruhl’s first win

Ruhl was asked about Rodgers’ shock departure from Celtic on Monday night, and expressed his sympathy for the Northern Irishman while he focuses on his job.

“I think the pressure is always there for a manager,” Röhl said.

“I think that’s football. It’s never good to sack the coach or something like that.

“We’re all managers in this business, but as football, I think that’s why sometimes we like it and sometimes we don’t.”

Striker Youssef El Shermaiti scored his first goal for Rangers in the win over Kilmarnock following his £8m move from Everton.

His celebration appeared to be a response to his critics in the stands at Ibrox after a difficult start to life in Glasgow.

Rohl said that Al-Sharmiti was clearly emotional, but he needs to choose his celebrations more carefully in the future.

“The celebration after the goal is always important,” Ruhl said.

“You have to understand how to celebrate sometimes. I said this when I arrived, it’s not just about improving players on the pitch, but also off the pitch.

“But we talked about it and I think he knows what to do next time. He was a bit emotional, but nothing more than that. For me, the most important thing was for him to score.”
