Rangers were also accused of complacency in the draw with Motherwell at Fir Park, when they conceded late on despite their hosts being reduced to 10 men.
They dropped points away to bottom club Livingston – who had won just once all season – after a thumping win over Hearts at Ibrox, which also halted the momentum of Danny Ruhl’s side.
Souttar says Rangers need to replicate the form they showed in the first half of the Old Firm derby over the final nine games of the league season.
The 29-year-old former Hearts defender said: “The crowd was awake, we were playing in their half, and we played fast, aggressive football, and we were like that against Hearts at home.”
“But we have to do it throughout the match. There is no point in doing it for 45-50 minutes.
“We have to keep it up throughout the game, and yes, there will be periods where we can’t do that throughout the game.”
Celtic will also be Rangers’ next opponents, in the Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday, again at Ibrox.
Souttar added: “Celtic is a good team. There will be moments when they have the ball, when they play their game, and then it is important that we are a little more experienced and get into good shape and make it difficult for us to play.”
