Rangers slip ‘unacceptable’ as Celtic show ‘determination’ – fans react

Hearts took another big step forward in the title race with victory over Aberdeen, with Tynecastle fans starting to get excited.

Kindergarten: It sounds like a real contradiction, but it was a nervous 1-0 win as well as a really solid and dominant performance. It’s time to believe!

Gary: Another win, three more points. Despite the narrow result, a comfortable win over an unlucky Aberdeen side. Nervous, not because of the opposition but mostly because of the fact that one mistake could have been costly.

Some great individual performances from Claudio Braga, Blair Spittal and Jimmy McCart to name a few. We leave for two weeks to calm the nerves and then we come back again.

complete: A very professional performance and our goalkeeper has never been tested. We could have scored more, but the three points are all that matters. I can now sit back and watch Celtic and Rangers battle it out for third and fourth place, with Motherwell, like us, better than both.

Chris: On paper, another 1-0 win at home, but these 1-0 wins don’t tell the whole story. We were exceptionally comfortable overall, and Aberdeen couldn’t get a shot on target. We played well in stages with the players working hard off the ball and I could not have been happier in my life to have a free week next weekend.

Steve: Another professional performance that could have been more comfortable had it not been for some poor finishing – Pierre Landry Capore and his cross shot over the goalkeeper just not good enough. Tynecastle has been buzzing, Braga is adding another million to his fortune and those hearts are still beating. Nine to go.

Harry: I thought McCart would step into Stuart Findlay’s house easily and he did. It’s unfortunate that we have injury problems, but having someone as good as McCartt waiting to go is great. I expect Lawrence Shankland to be back more than my newborn by this point. We are very close.

Aberdeen’s recent defeat prompted some fans to say the team was “the worst in living memory”.

David: This has to be the worst Aberdeen team I have ever seen. They struggle to defend or attack. – A severe lack of leadership on or off the field. This may be the season they come down. A massive turnaround is needed to finish this season for next season.

Bob: We have assembled, at great cost, perhaps the worst squad of players in living memory. I would like to know who is responsible. The only reason we can’t go down is because Levi and Kelly are worse.

dew: The result was as good as could be expected. We gave them the game in parts, but often the distribution was poor. Roll at the end of the season.

Al-Maliki: I put more effort into these messages than Aberdeen did on the pitch. It has become Groundhog Day. Slow all over the pitch, has no lead, easy to defend against and easy to score against.

Slow on second balls, passing between defenders and even that is not fast enough. We are three yards off the pace every week! That’s enough.

We are sleepwalking towards another Jimmy Thelen-style appointment with another largely unknown arrival to the Premier League woefully unprepared. We are in complete and utter chaos.

David: This was a one-sided 1-0! It’s all very well for Peter Levein and Lyall Cameron to say Hearts are beatable, but as usual we didn’t have the players or setup to make it happen. Another addition to the coaching team – why? Get a new manager now.

Niall: There was a sense of inevitability, as it turned out, but once again, defensive weaknesses and lack of goal threat doomed the Dons to a dogged battle for Premier League survival.

Alphonse: No surprises. I don’t think many Dons fans thought we’d get anything out of this game. We struggle to see this team get any points before the split, meaning we could easily be dragged into the relegation play-off.
