Reacher star Alan Ritchson was filmed assaulting his neighbour American television

Alan Ritchson, the actor best known for his role in the hit action series Reacher, has been filmed assaulting his neighbor in front of the actor’s children.

In a video obtained by TMZ on Sunday, the 43-year-old appeared to strike a man several times while he was kneeling on the ground in what looked like suburban Tennessee. Two children, who TMZ reported were Ritchson’s sons, could be seen sitting nearby on motorcycles and watching the accident.

Speaking to the outlet, the alleged victim, Ronnie Taylor, claimed that Richeson was riding his motorcycle through the neighborhood at high speeds while revving the engine on Saturday. Taylor said he responded with an obscene gesture, which is what Ritchson allegedly responded to, according to TMZ.

Taylor added that on Sunday, Ritchson returned to the neighborhood, this time accompanied by his two children on their motorcycles. Taylor claimed he told Richeson: “Can you please stop this?” The situation escalated into a physical altercation. He claimed Ritchson hit him “at least four times”.

Photos obtained by TMZ show Taylor with visible bruising and swelling on his face.

However, other sources cited by TMZ responded that Taylor approached Ritchson in a “really aggressive manner” and allegedly tried to interfere with his motorcycle, causing the actor to fall and sustain minor injuries. Another source told TMZ that Taylor “initiated and instigated” the confrontation.

The Guardian has contacted Ritchson representatives for comment.

Ritchson is widely known for his portrayal of fictional former US Army military police officer Jack Reacher in the Amazon Prime Video series Reacher. The character has extensive combat experience and is often shown eliminating opponents in intense battles.

The show, based on author Lee Child’s best-selling crime novels, has been praised for Ritchson’s physical performance and its close resemblance to the protagonist’s original portrayal of a muscular, 6-foot-5-inch, 250-pound man compared to Tom Cruise’s portrayal in the 2012 film Jack Reacher.
