The first trailer for Steven Spielberg’s mysterious UFO thriller has provided more details about what audiences can expect.

Revealing Day, written by Jurassic Park’s David Koepp and based on Spielberg’s story, sees a star-studded take on the discovery of aliens. “Why does He create such a vast universe and save it only for us?” says Elizabeth Marvel’s character at the end of the teaser.

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell. O’Connor’s character says: “People have a right to know the truth. It’s about 7 billion people.”

It is Spielberg’s first film since his 2022 semi-autobiographical drama The Fabelmans, which received seven Academy Award nominations. It also brings him back to the world of aliens, which has been previously explored in films like War of the Worlds, E.T., and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

“It’s like old school Spielberg,” O’Connor said recently in an interview. “I think people will be excited.”

Earlier this year, Koepp described the film as a “very emotional experience.”

“I finished reading the script and I was blown away,” Domingo said earlier this year. “I thought it was one of the most beautiful screenplays about our humanity. I think it was the most beautiful movie about our humanity, and I literally cried because Steven Spielberg believes we can be human.”

The marketing campaign coincided with the success of the documentary “The Age of Disclosure,” which claimed that the government was covering up the existence of alien life. It recently broke a record by becoming the most rented documentary in its first 48 hours of release on Amazon Prime Video.

Billboards recently appeared in Times Square for the film and the trailer will be shown before the latest Avatar film this month.

Disclosure Day will hit theaters in the summer of 2026, a season that will also see the release of blockbuster films including Toy Story 5, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Minions 3, Supergirl, the live-action Moana, and He-Man: Masters of the Universe.
