Welshman Rhys Edwards will compete for the British title when he faces Julie Poire on the undercard Defending world title by Lauren Price vs. Stephanie Aquino on April 4 in Cardiff.
Edwards will compete for the featherweight title at the Utilita Arena, which will be shown live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer from 20:00 GMT.
Edwards, 25, says this opportunity represents the culmination of his career.
“Winning the British title has been a dream since I started boxing,” he said.
“I’ve worked my whole career for this moment, and now it’s time to seize it. To have this opportunity back home in Wales is a special feeling.”
Edwards has only one defeat on his record, to Peter McGrail in 2024, but bounced back with a routine win over Thomas Isomba last June.
Wolverhampton fighter Powar, 23, is still making a name for himself in the division after turning heads while competing in the WBC Grand Prix of Boxing last year.
Powar has 13 wins and 1 loss in his career.
“This is my time to shine,” Powar said. “I started working behind the scenes and now everyone can see what I do.”
“I respect Rhys, but I’m coming to Cardiff to take this British title home.”
Ben Shalom, who promotes Edwards, described the contest as “a fantastic British title fight between two hungry young fighters”.
