Former manager Amandine Mikel was sacked shortly before the start of the season and a number of key players left the club.

This means there is work to do in the January transfer window, and Passmore will be hoping to bring in a few experienced players to strengthen the squad.

He added: “We realize that many goal-scoring clubs are looking for change. We have to be aware of transferring parts from all over the world.”

“We have to know exactly what we want and who we want. At the moment, we are not adding large numbers, but players who can add to the team with their personality, experience, knowledge and leadership skills off the field.

“A lot of players have grown up with us from lower levels who haven’t been in the WSL and are playing a lot of games. We hope to be active.”

While the work in January will be crucial, the club is also hoping to produce its own talent in the future.

Passmore’s experience working at Leeds United’s boys academy and his track record in developing young talent could be crucial for Leicester.

At Leeds, Passmore worked with a number of stars in the men’s game including Fabian Delph, Danny Rose and Kalvin Phillips.

He helped launch the Women and Girls Program which has developed former England internationals Steve Houghton, Ellen White and Rachel Daly.

“It’s very special if you think about the women’s game and how it has evolved in relation to what we have now and the youth system,” Passmore added.

“We want to produce our own talent because it adds something extra to the team and what it means to be in the Leicester City dressing room.

“It inspires the next generation and fan base when they know they’re coming to King Power to see local talent. There’s a lot of pride.”

“There is no point in Leicester City being in the Premier League and getting a title [youth] “The program if you’re not going to produce players.”
