Ronda Rousey says no fighter is ever truly retired, but she has played down speculation that she is training to return to the UFC.

The 38-year-old American released a series of training videos on social media recently, sparking rumors that she may be planning a comeback.

Rousey is considered a pioneer in women’s mixed martial arts, having become the first UFC bantamweight champion in 2012 and defending her title six times.

But she has not fought since 2016 after losing to Amanda Nunes, and revealed last year that concussions had hampered the latter part of her career.

“They say, ‘You look so good.’ Because I’m the greatest of all time,” Rosie told US radio show The Breakfast Club.

“Of course, that’s what happens when I train – I look great. Sorry, I don’t have to have a plan to take over the world in mind.

“But Mike Tyson coming back and being the biggest fight of last year kind of proves that I don’t think anyone has ever done that.”

Tyson, the former heavyweight boxing champion, ended his 19-year retirement to return to the ring at the age of 58, and lost in a controversial fight to Jake Paul last year.

Rousey, who won Olympic judo bronze for the United States in 2008, dominated after moving to mixed martial arts, winning 12 out of 14 fights, each victory by stoppage.

However, she later revealed that her aggressive style was a deliberate ploy to try to end fights early and limit the damage to her head.
