💡 **What You’ll Learn**:
Moore spent three years with the Arizona Cardinals after being selected in the second round in the 2021 draft.
He joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2024 but a knee injury caused him to miss the entire season, before joining the Vikings in 2025.
“While Rondell was a member of the Vikings for a short time, he was someone we knew well and cared deeply about,” Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said.
“He was a humble, soft-spoken, respectful young man who was proud of his Indiana roots.
“We are all saddened by the fact that he will not go on to fulfill his dream in the NFL and we will not all have the opportunity to watch him flourish.”
The NFL said they were “deeply saddened” by the “tragic death” of Moore.
After making his NFL debut in 2021, Moore went on to make 135 catches for 1,201 yards for the Cardinals over three seasons in Arizona.
“We are devastated and saddened by today’s news,” the Cardinals said in a statement.
“Our deepest thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, teammates and everyone who loved him and had the privilege of knowing such a special person.”
Former Cardinals teammate JJ Watt said: “I can’t even begin to understand or process this. There’s no way. Way too early. Way too special. So much left to give. Rest in peace Rondell.”
“In moments like these, we are reminded of how much our players carry, on and off the field,” said the NFL Players Association, a player welfare union.
“To our members: Please know that support is always at hand. Check in with your teammates and prioritize your mental health.”
