Sam Parkin: Final score expert on Wrexham’s form and West Brom’s ‘dangerous situation’

At the bottom of the Championship, strugglers Leicester and West Bromwich Albion both failed to win again.

Albion, who were defeated by Coventry, have not achieved a win in their past nine league matches, and the Foxes, who drew 2-2 with Stoke, have not achieved a win in their last seven matches.

Both sides sit precariously at the bottom of the table. Leicester currently sit in 22nd place, one place and one point behind the Baggies, and four points ahead of Blackburn Rovers, who are fifth from bottom.

Parkin: He added: “I was surprised by both misfortunes. The points deduction did not help Leicester City, but they still have enough games to collect more points to see them in a better position than they are now.”

“I thought it was still a positive result for Leicester, a positive point despite the late equaliser.

“They need to stop conceding goals – that’s the minimum they’ve conceded in each of their last six games. They’re conceding too many goals and that’s something you wouldn’t associate with Gary Rowett’s team, so I’m sure he’ll improve them defensively in time to get enough points to stay in the division.

“I think they have players in the team to improve and escape relegation this year. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do that comfortably, but they need some results quickly to gain some momentum.

“For West Brom, I think it’s a more dangerous situation because they’ve already changed the manager once and they haven’t improved.

“It’s worrying times. Eric Ramsey has improved them defensively in the last few games, but obviously against the leading team in the division that was very difficult today.

“There have been some games where they have failed to score and that is a big problem if they are looking to win games in the coming weeks to get themselves out of trouble.”
