✅ Main takeaway:

Norris had it all to do after he locked up his front brake at the first corner in his first round of the shootout.

Piastri dropped out of third in the sprint earlier in the day, leaving him nine points behind Norris in the championship, but he produced his first lap to set the fastest pace from Leclerc.

But Norris looked to be the man to beat all weekend, and he produced an impressive lap on his final outing, under intense pressure, to beat his team-mate by 0.375 seconds.

“I felt good,” Norris said. “I was under a little pressure because I locked up on the first lap so the pressure was a little more than I would have liked but I stayed calm and very happy.”

“Getting locked into the first turn puts unnecessary pressure on myself, but when I’m in a good rhythm, when I can put it all together, I’ll be on top.”

Antonelli, who pushed Norris throughout the sprint, was Mercedes’ main driver all weekend.

“I’m a little upset because I’m standing behind him again,” the 19-year-old said. “We were very close behind him again, and it was very difficult to put together the lap with the wind. But we were able to put in a good lap in the last round and we are happy about that.”
