Scotland recorded an easy seven-wicket win over Namibia, reaching the 75-run target in just 8.4 overs, in their final match at the Women’s Emerging Nations Cup in Bangkok.
The Scottish team tops the standings, and is the only team to have won all four of its matches so far, while Namibia is at the bottom of the list of eight participating teams with one win and three defeats.
Having decided to bowl after winning the toss, Scotland took the first two wickets from Namibia for just three runs.
Only Mikelae Mwatile (15 not out) and Edel van Zyl (12) achieved double figures while Namibia were bowled out with 74.
In response, the Scots were 21-2 after losing openers Ailsa Lister and Elaine Watson.
Darcy Carter, top scorer in the previous three games, was sent off for a relatively modest 21 this time, but by then the Scots were just four goals short of Namibia’s total.
Captain Sarah Price did most of the damage this time, with 36 not out including seven fours, before Megan McCall sealed the match with a six off her second ball.
Scotland will next face Papua New Guinea, who beat the Netherlands by eight runs to record their second win on Wednesday.
