For all their struggles this season, on and off the pitch, Celtic appear to be hitting form at the right time.
Under interim manager Martin O’Neill, Parkhead won away to Stuttgart in the Europa League, drawing 2-2 with Rangers in the league before knocking rivals Glasgow out of the Scottish Cup on penalties.
They then overcame the challenge of Motherwell in front of their home fans on Saturday, no mean feat given the way Jens Berthel Askew has made the Steelmen play this season.
“At the moment, Celtic have the best momentum out of the three,” Loncrannds said.
“with [Hearts] After losing three consecutive away games and Celtic pulling one back, Hearts are in a tough spot.
“Rangers have got better games in the next two games, so it could go anywhere.”
Hearts host Dundee and Motherwell either side of a trip to Livingston before the split, Celtic play away to Dundee sides before hosting St Mirren, while Rangers host Aberdeen and Dundee United before going to Falkirk.
Celtic have kept themselves in the hunt despite injuries to key players this season, and Allan believes adversity will build strength in the Parkhead camp.
He said: “Celtic missed the efforts of Alistair Johnstone, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota and is still achieving good results.” “To go without [Callum] McGregor W [Kieran] Tierney to Ibrox and still take the result, this is a winning dressing room.
“I think they have something that others don’t have.”
In fact, when asked who they backed to top the rankings on May 16, both pundits agreed.
“If I bet money, Celtic,” Allan said.
“I am the same,” replied Lonkrands. “Before this weekend, I thought it was Hearts who would lose, but now, I think it’s going towards Celtic.”
