Sean Dyche has been sacked by Nottingham Forest with the club in the relegation fight

Postecoglou lasted only 39 days after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked after just three games in the 2025-26 season.

Dyche took charge at the City Ground with Forest 18th in the table after one win in eight matches during a difficult start to the season.

After a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth in his first match with the team, Dyke led Forest to four wins and one draw in the next seven matches to pull the team out of the relegation zone.

A run of four successive defeats followed, but Daiichi’s side responded with a four-match unbeaten run – including a 2-1 win over struggling West Ham and a goalless draw with leaders Arsenal.

However, the improvement in form of Leeds United and West Ham has kept Forest mired in the relegation battle.

Forest ranked 13th in the Europa League group table, after achieving four wins, two draws and two defeats in its eight matches, to reach the knockout stage.

They face Turkish team Fenerbahce in two matches this month to have a chance to reach the round of 16, with the first leg to be held next Thursday.

Forest have been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions, losing 3-2 to Postecoglou’s Swansea in the UEFA Cup third round in September, and crashing out of the FA Cup on penalties to another club in the Championship, Wrexham, in the third round under Daiche last month.
