Senator Elizabeth Warren says Trump called her and talked to her about credit card rates and housing costs

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Democrat of Massachusetts, had just given a speech calling on President Donald Trump to use his influence to address high prices — and in an unusual move, he called her on the phone.

While speaking on the phone, she said, she offered him advice about his latest push to cap credit card rates and lower housing costs. “No more delay. It’s time to provide relief to American families.”

The White House did not respond to an Associated Press request for comment.

Earlier in the day, Warren accused Trump of raising costs on American families and doing little to address affordability. “He certainly knows how to get on the phone” regarding Venezuela and the Epstein files, Warren said during her speech. “But is he on the phone to say: Move the housing bill so we can start now?”

This prompted Trump to call the Democratic senator who had been provoking him for years.
