France arrive in Cardiff next Sunday as Wales search for a first home win in the Six Nations in four years.

The dire state of Welsh rugby means the Welsh Football Association is struggling to sell all three of its home matches this year, with thousands of tickets still available for next weekend.

Tandy hopes Wales will get their usual support at home.

“The fans have been a great support for the team,” Tandy said.

“We know what it means for the boys to play at the Principality Stadium and the fans give them great belief.”

It remains to be seen whether the Wales boss will make changes as he balances his reaction to the disappointing display with the need to develop a stable squad.

He says there will be no “knee-jerk reaction” and full-back Louis Rees-Zammit appears to have done enough to keep the No.15 shirt.

The former AFL player was making his Six Nations debut in almost three years and is settling into a new role after switching from winger.

After a shaky start in which he conceded an early kick, Rees-Zammit settled down and provided a solid break in the second half.

“He did well in his first start as a 15-year-old a while ago for us,” Tandy said.

“In Test rugby, there’s not a lot of space but I think he’s adapted to the aerial battles.

“He’s a big guy and he lit up the game in moments. We’re looking forward to how we can get more of those moments.”

So perhaps there is one thing Welsh fans will cling to. There is currently not much more than that.
