Wales have lost all four of their matches so far in the tournament and are looking for a first home win against Italy since 2020.
Wales will also be hoping to snap a 15-match losing streak in the tournament, as they attempt to avoid a third successive Six Nations defeat.
Tandy’s side can only finish bottom of the table again if they secure a 50-point win over Italy and will be hoping France can achieve the same result against England.
“This week we need to take it to another level,” Tandy said.
“We had some good performances. There were some parts against France, and then we built up against Scotland where I thought we were in very good form.
“Against Ireland, we stepped up to the plate. Now we put everything together and give our best performance this weekend.”
Wales are also looking for their first home Six Nations win in four years since beating Scotland in February 2022.
“For me and my team, being back at the Principality Stadium is amazing,” Tandy said.
“The players did a good job of creating their own energy against Ireland, but there is nothing better than playing at home.
“The boys at meetings point out how much the Scotland game means to them, as well as the games against France and New Zealand.
“The fans have been amazing and I think they support the team and the team is putting on a show to represent our nation,” he added.
