People are witnessing the demise of Wales, a country that has enjoyed Six Nations success and Grand Slam victories over the past two decades.
Dedicated fans will try to stick by their beloved team through thick and thin, but this has proven to be a turbulent time since the 2023 World Cup.
Wales have lost 22 of their last 24 international matches, which includes 18 in a row, with only two wins against Japan.
There have been 12 successive Six Nations defeats, a record that now extends to 1,072 days when Wales beat Italy in Rome in March 2023.
And there are very few comforts at home, as Wales have not won a match in Cardiff in the Championship for four years since beating Scotland in February 2022. That was 1,464 days ago.
This has also been the way of modest defeats at home recently, with record heavy losses to England (68-14), Argentina (52-28), and South Africa (73-0).
Even the loss to New Zealand in November, which was postponed as Wales showed some green shoots of recovery, was a 52-26 loss.
Despite the results, captain Dewi Lake praised the surroundings of the Principality Stadium.
“It’s our home stadium, the best stadium in the world, and we’re excited to be back home,” Lake said.
He added: “Our goal in our match on the field is to engage the fans and give them life and energy because that reflects on us.”
Wales must back up those exciting words with action.
