Jenkins, 23, has taken charge of Rob Baxter’s resurgent Exeter Chiefs side this season, with the play-offs looming.
“It’s a high level there,” he said, citing quality players and quality people.
One of his close friends is Wales striker Christ Chienza who has been linked with a move to Cardiff next season.
“I hope he doesn’t [go]Because he is a good companion. “We went through all the age groups together,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins says there are similarities in terms of where Exeter were two seasons ago and where Wales find themselves now.
“The thing is at Exeter, we didn’t have to make big changes, it was just small changes, daily training and stuff,” he said.
“You make those changes, you have a good pre-season, you have good first games, you get that momentum and the season becomes a lot easier.
“It’s similar here [with Wales]. We’re a young group and I think if we keep making those changes and pushing as a team, we’ll be a good team.
He added: “I personally see where this group can go. I am confident that by the time we get to the World Cup we will be motivated and cause a lot of problems for the teams.”
