Six Nations: Stuart McCluskey ‘presents’ for Ireland – Gary Ringrose

Ireland center Gary Ringrose says he feels “lucky” to play alongside the in-form Stuart McCluskey in this year’s Six Nations.

Ulster’s McCluskey has been an outstanding player for Ireland in his three appearances in the tournament so far, combining well with midfield partner Ringrose in particular in the 42-21 win over England on Saturday.

Ringrose has heaped praise on the 33-year-old, who has had to bide his time to shine on the international stage, and is happy that their partnership is working well at the Irish Games so far.

“I feel lucky to play alongside him. He is going particularly well [against England] “It was great,” Ringrose said.

“It’s kind of like playing off the field or outside the 80 minutes, we’re working hard as a central group, as a unit to try to get things right, be adaptable to whoever is there and have everyone on the same page, while also bringing that kind of individuality and individual quality.

“We all believe in team spirit and he is properly embodying his uniqueness and individual strength that has been evident in the last few matches.”
