Sony’s largest QLED screens are seeing big discounts this weekend

When we cover We often talk about the more popular 55- and 65-inch TVs, but as someone who has an 85-inch TV in the guest room, I know how attractive an oversized screen can be. Today I’ve got a deal for you on the larger end of Sony’s Bravia 9 series monitors, with $900 off the 75-inch model, and a whopping $1,800 off the 85-inch version.

In addition to taking up an entire wall in your living room, these large displays are also ultra-bright, with up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. It’s helped by quantum dots, which help colors look bright and true, even with increased brightness.

While viewing angles can’t quite compete with the best OLED displays, Sony does have a few tricks up its sleeve, like anti-reflective coatings and wide-panel technology, which should ensure everyone on the couch gets a good view. The occasional rainbow that pops up as a result is most noticeable in dark scenes in a well-lit room, which isn’t the best viewing situation regardless of screen size or panel type.

Not everything is perfect, unfortunately. There are only two HDMI 2.1 ports, and only one of them is an eARC port, so that will likely be connected to your soundbar. Sharp-eyed viewers may also notice some symmetry issues, especially around the edges of the screen.

If you don’t feel like you’re ready for the big leagues, or don’t have the space in your living room, the 65-inch model of the Sony Bravia 9 has been marked down for $2,000, and is $1,000 off, a mid-sized monitor. However, if you can spare the space on your wall, the 75-inch model is only $2,600 which is very impressive, and the 85-inch version, while really huge, is heavily discounted to $3,000.
