Prediction Seahawks 17-20 Patriots

Seattle has lost three games this season by a combined nine points, but someone’s gotta root for the Patriots, right? Underdogs have won four of the last five Super Bowls.

I don’t think they can win a shootout but I don’t expect one with these two defenses – I would like them to strike first even though Seattle is 11-0 this season when the score is first.

Listen, a dominant Seahawks win wouldn’t surprise me, but I have a feeling Vrabel and Josh McDaniels with all their experience can pull something out of the bag.

The Pats are 12-0 and allow just 14.5 points per game when defensive tackle Milton Williams and shutdown corner Christian Gonzalez are on the court together, and both will play on Sunday.

If he comes close down the stretch, it will only take one play. Give me pats in the nail.

Most Valuable Player: Milton Williams

Let’s face it, it’s a midfielder award, isn’t it, but since I’m all for a low-scoring upset win, I’ll only pick the 10th defenseman to win the MVP award. Von Miller was the last on the same field to also wear white! Aside from the omens, Williams had a few sacks and a forced fumble on Patrick Mahomes for the Eagles last year and something similar in a tight contest could be a difference-maker.

Seahawks 24-13 Patriots prediction

Seattle’s great defense, known as the Dark Side, was the main topic of discussion during Super Bowl week. Drake Maye has shown the ability to scramble and escape pressure but I think the Seahawks will bring too much heat and stifle the Patriots quarterback.

He already has the second-most sacks in a season (15) and I think Seattle will force him to pass Joe Burrow’s record of 19.

New England’s defense isn’t too shabby either, so I expect it to be a tight, low-scoring game before Seattle rallies late in the third quarter or early in the fourth to pull out the win.

Most Valuable Player: Leonard Williams

About 17 Seattle players have recorded at least half a sack this season, with their interior defense particularly aggressive. Tackle Leonard Williams has recorded eight sacks and 33 quarterback pressures, so I’m rooting for the 13-year veteran to emerge from the Dark Side and become the rare defensive MVP.
