Sutton’s FA Cup fourth round predictions against Daffy Duck and Porky Pig – and the AI

I’ll be participating in commentary on this game on 5 Live with Ali Bruce-Ball and I can’t wait.

Macclesfield coach John Rooney did a great job in his team’s historic victory over Crystal Palace in the third round.

I watched the game as part of my preparation, and while the Silkmen had just under 29% of possession, they limited Palace to very few chances and deserved to win.

The elimination of the reigning champions has been hailed as the biggest shock in the illustrious history of the FA Cup, and it would be another remarkable achievement if they also knocked out Brentford.

Only one non-league team has beaten two top-flight teams in the same FA Cup campaign – Millwall in 1913-14, who beat Chelsea and Bradford City.

I’d like to think Macclesfield can do that too, and if they play like they did against Palace, they will have a great chance, especially on their own plastic pitch.

I think Brentford will be ready for them and Keith Andrews’ side are having a great season as well.

Andrews will know he can’t make too many changes here, and perhaps Brentford will be involved in the FA Cup themselves – they haven’t reached the quarter-finals since 1989, so it’s long overdue.

This will be a tough match but I have a feeling the Bees will come out on top.
