First-team coach Christian O’Leary and head goalkeeping Martyn Margetson, who were part of previous coach Alan Sheehan’s coaching staff, will remain in their roles.

Medeiros – who the club says will arrive in the “next few weeks” – has been Matos’ assistant at the Portuguese second division side, while Mendes is an experienced coach and Ricca is an analyst and coach.

“We are very pleased to be able to confirm these appointments and provide further details on the makeup of our football staff,” Swansea chief executive Tom Goring said.

“I would also like to place on record my thanks to everyone who participated in assisting us as we progressed through the various processes required.

“As mentioned previously, this was something we always knew we would need to go through, and we are pleased to add this extra support for Vitor ahead of a busy series of matches.

“We are also grateful for the ongoing support of current staff such as Martyn Margitson and Chris O’Leary, as well as Joe and Leon, which has been invaluable to us as a club.”

Aside from Medeiros, Matos now has his full coaching squad ready for Friday’s Championship match against Wrexham (20:00 GMT).
