Swansea City criticize TV coverage of Wrexham loss after Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mack comment

Reynolds and Mack celebrated five years in charge of Wrexham last month.

During their time as owners, the Red Dragons rose from the National League to contention in the Championship play-offs thanks to three successive promotions.

American actor Mac (48 years old) described commentating on the Wrexham match against Swansea as “the most rewarding professional experience of my entire life.”

Wrexham won the match 2-0 to boost their hopes of reaching the Championship play-offs while dealing a blow to Swansea’s slim chances of finishing in the top six.

Goring, who was appointed Swansea’s chief executive just over a year ago, added: “With Rob and Ryan’s own production company producing, it was all the guests and the focus on their team, there were celebrations with David Broughton – the face of Sky’s EFL coverage – and the announcement to suspend the game failed to mention that we were playing at all.”

“I felt to myself and to a number of our staff that we were very much an afterthought and that our hosts were given priority at every opportunity, and as a club we strongly suggest that more critical thought be given to how these situations are handled moving forward.

“This is a position I will be discussing with the Premier League next week.”

Sky Sports insisted it was responsible for producing coverage of the Wrexham-Swansea match, contrary to Gorringe’s statement.

Sky Sports also revealed that 40% of viewers of the game at home chose to watch the alternate broadcast featuring Reynolds and Mack.
