Pakistan booked their place in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup with a dominant win over Namibia.
Opener Sahibzada Farhan sealed the win with a scintillating century off 58 balls before the Pakistan bowlers got to work, bowling out the Associated Nation for just 97.
The win means Pakistan joins India in the Group A qualifiers, eliminating both the United States and the Netherlands.
The 29-year-old Farhan has enjoyed an impressive competition so far, scoring 47 against the Netherlands and 73 against the United States, although he did score a duck against India in Pakistan’s last match.
However, here he was back to his best, dominating on the back foot and stealing many of his passes through the leg side.
He was particularly dismissive of WP Myburgh, as he flicked the leg-spinner for a towering six over Cow Corner. He also impressed with Jacques Brassell’s medium pace, making 30 off 13 deliveries against him as Pakistan went through the gears.
He was well supported by Shadab Khan, who hit 36 off 22 balls to lift Pakistan to 199-3.
Namibia never got to bat, despite Lauren Steenkamp getting 23 not out.
Their batsmen struggled against the Pakistan spinners in particular as Usman Tariq once again impressed with 4-16, including a beautiful trick that stunned Robin Trompelman.
