The next test for Ruhl’s new Rangers side is Sunday’s Premier League Cup semi-final against Celtic at Hampden.
Given the turmoil Celtic have seen this week following the shock departure of Brendan Rodgers, Rangers may fancy their chance with his newfound confidence and greater resilience.
Martin O’Neill’s side regained some of their old form with a 4-0 win over Falkirk, meaning the second derby of the season is very difficult to predict.
Ruhl himself said that Rangers still have a lot of work to do, especially on the ball.
The downside to its compact format was the lack of exposure, and with no judging panel on all the summer recruits.
Rangers conceded just 13 crosses at Easter Road, compared to Hibs’ 22, with the home side having the clearer chances.
In a way, all that was achieved was to stabilize the fundamentals after Martin’s side toiled in the first two months of the season.
However, Ruhl’s six-day turnaround has at least sparked some belief.
“It will be a great match and I am excited,” he said. “We will go in with two wins in a row and with a lot of confidence and we will have a good game. My boys are ready for that.”
“That’s how I feel in the locker room right now, and that’s what we’ve done the last two games.”
