Patina – The company, founded by Sean Rasbet and Laura Sisson, works on olfactory technology to create “photographs of smell,” through a combination of protein folding, odorant receptors, and graphical neural networks.
My Place, from Orange – a platform founded by Helen Huang that allows users to play games that are realistic simulations of everyday human life.

Putty (no website yet) – Although the company is still stealthy, Betaworks said it wanted to work with the founder, Kevin Chang, because he was “deeply engaged in the concepts” the company is interested in, including “memory systems, ambient interfaces” and “technology geared to the more dispersed rhythm of life.”
Telepath – A computer built with artificial intelligence and no applications, founded by Stephen Hood, Josh Whiting, and Robert Manfredi.
Feather — A digital assistant that helps create automated workflows for tedious tasks, like searching for an apartment. Founded by Xiaobo Zhang and Marco Yu.
Nobrain Founded by Priyanka Jain and Ingo Marquardt, this company creates EEG data (the test used to record the brain’s electrical activity) to help translate human thoughts into speech, text, and images.
Presq – Founded by Adam Saleh, Steve Borstein, and Mickey Robbins, this platform allows influencers to upload data to quickly create options that allow them to create manufacturable shoes. It plans to soon expand into other product areas, such as eyewear and household goods.
Intension – This company, founded by Connor Sanchez-O’Shea and Gabriel Duemichen, helps people focus while working at their desktop by removing anything distracting from view. It tracks users’ attention and identifies workflow habits for those working on desktop computers.
