✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:
Vibrators are some of the most accessible sex toys on the market, but there are so many types of vibrators that they can make a long-term vibrator owner feel a little crazy. From bullet vibrators and the popular rabbit vibrators to all those funny-shaped but deliciously powerful vibrators in between, shopping for one can be overwhelming. Fortunately, I have some tips and tricks to help you narrow things down.
First, look at the materials. For vibrators, you want them to be made of 100 percent platinum-treated silicone and/or ABS plastic. The hard, shiny plastic is fine for parts that don’t touch your genitals, but platinum silicone is non-porous and easy to clean. Safe for the body. Unlike lesser types of silicone, platinum silicone does not emit any odors or foreign compounds that may be irritating or even harmful to your reproductive organs. This is because it is chemically different from other types of silicone. Surgical steel (also called stainless steel 316) and Borosilicate glass They are body safe, durable, and non-porous, but are less common in vibrators and more common in dildos.
Second, look at the charger that the vibrator comes with. Is it USB-A, USB-C, or a special AC adapter? I try to keep things simple and stick to USB rechargeable vibrators with either USB-A or USB-C. It’s very easy to lose a charger, and there’s comfort in knowing that you can use any charging cable you have on hand. There’s nothing worse than a game that dies in the middle of using it.
Third, when you get your new vibrator, test the strength of its vibration on the tip of your nose first. You should feel it tickling your nose and sinuses, giving you an idea of how deep into your genital tissue it can stimulate. Remember, about 90% of the clitoris cannot be stimulated directly because it is under the skin, so deep feelings are important. The same goes for the penis, as erectile tissue runs deep into your body, and stimulating it with a vibrator can provide a new and exhilarating experience.
Finally, think about the price, especially if you’re on a limited budget. Some vibrators can be really expensive depending on the features they offer. For example, long-distance devices and suction toys can cost a few hundred dollars. Although a high-quality, body-safe vibrator doesn’t have to be cheap, you also want to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth. Make sure to read the specifications so you know you’re making a financially wise decision. If your vibrator only has an hour of battery life, but will cost you $200, keep looking.
