✅ Here’s what you’ll learn:

Rogers has now scored 21 goals in all competitions since the start of last season.

At the age of 23 years and 148 days, he today became the youngest player to score 20 or more goals for a top-flight club in this period.

Emery said Rogers is the “protagonist” at Villa and is a “fighter” who gets rewards on the pitch for his efforts.

“He’s a great man and a great player because he loves football,” Emery told the BBC.

“Morgan loves to work. He is hardworking and works to raise his professional level to a high level.

He added: “He started the season without scoring, but he was performing well, always showing his attitude and scoring goals.”

Rogers is Villa’s top scorer in the English Premier League with seven goals, including four in his last two matches.

In fact, he became the first Villa player to score two or more goals in two consecutive Premier League matches since Dion Dublin in November 1998.

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney said Rogers had “returned to his best” over the past month.

Rooney said: “He’s a strong, physical boy. He runs with the ball well and scores some great goals.”

“He’s playing really well. He’s clearly become the key player at Aston Villa.”

Former Leeds and England striker Sue Smith told BBC Radio 5 Live that Rogers’ first touch is “perfect” and when games are decided narrowly, he is “able to produce those fantastic moments” to decide the outcome.

Former Aston Villa and England midfielder Paul Merson agreed and described Morgan as a “game-changer” who can provide the “X-factor”.
