Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been put up as a ‘marquee’ player at The Hundred’s auction, along with 13 other men from Pakistan.
The list of players to be auctioned next week has been trimmed from the 712 men and 253 women registered last month, with 247 men and 178 remaining respectively.
Last week, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the eight hundred teams issued a statement confirming that no one would be “excluded on the basis of their nationality” after BBC Sport reported that the four franchises with owners linked to the Indian Premier League (IPL) would not consider players from Pakistan.
Raouf, 32, is listed among the first 10 men to be auctioned and has the highest possible reserve price of £100,000.
The 14 representatives from Pakistan in the men’s auction are the third largest from a foreign country, behind the 19 from South Africa and 18 from Australia.
In the women’s auction, there are two Pakistani players – Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana – who were eliminated from four preliminary nominations.
The Women’s Hundred Auction takes place on Wednesday, March 11, and the Men’s Auction the following day.
After the initial list of players was published, franchises were asked to nominate players they might be interested in.
A player only needs a nomination from one team to be included in the final auction list, although the list of nominations from each team has not been published.
