The New York Knicks ended their four-game losing streak with a thrilling victory over their local rival Brooklyn Nets 120-66.

The 54-point margin of victory is the largest since the Knicks were founded in 1946 and exceeds the 48-point margin of victory achieved in 1968, 1972 and 1994.

“Seeing us play the way we can play and playing together for 48 minutes was a lot of fun,” Knicks coach Mike Brown said.

The win at Madison Square Garden came after a poor run that culminated in a 114-97 defeat to Dallas on Monday.

But the Knicks came out of this level against the Nets, and led 38-20 in the first quarter, and increased their score to 59 points at one stage of the match.

Jalen Brunson, who scored 20 points, said the win was a big boost for the Knicks as the Knicks approach the midpoint of the season in third place in the Eastern Conference behind the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics.

“We just had to refocus and get back to where we are,” Bronson said.

“This is a good step for us, but we have to keep pushing to get better every day.”
