This article reveals the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 final result.
FORMER Lioness Karen Carney has been crowned Strictly Come Dancing of the Year, becoming the first female footballer to lift the glitterball trophy.
She beat Love Islander Amber Davies and social media star George Clarke after winning the audience vote in Saturday’s live final on BBC One.
“I can’t believe it, this has been the biggest privilege and honour,” said Carney, who accompanied professional dancer Carlos Go, before adding that she was “at a loss for words.”
It was an emotional night at the Hall, as Claudia Winklemann and Tess Daly hosted the final for the last time – and Queen Camilla was among those who paid tribute to the long-term hosts.
In a letter read by judge Craig Revel Horwood, the Queen said Daly and Winkleman’s “warmth, compassion and absolute happiness” were at the heart of the show’s success, adding: “I think I speak for everyone when I say you were absolutely brilliant.”

As usual, one of the dances in the grand finale was chosen by the judges, one was their favorite dance from the series, and the other was a show dance.
The judges gave advisory scores but the audience made the final decision.
Carney and Joe performed routines including a show dance to Inner Smile by Texas, and an Argentine Tango to Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.
They also performed a football-themed cover of One Way Or Another by Blondie, which earned them a standing ovation – their second perfect score of the night.

But the winning duo faced stiff competition from the remaining couples.
Amber Davis and her partner Nikita Kuzmin were the first to hit the dance floor.
The duo performed routines including a show dance to Rain On Me by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, Paso Doble to Dream On by Aerosmith, and jive to Proud Mary.
Meanwhile, George Clarke and his partner Alexis Warr reprized their Paso Doble in Game of Survival by Ruelle.
They also performed their show dance to Human by The Killers, and the Viennese Waltz to Somebody to Love by Queen.
But after weeks of tango, salsa and foxtrot, it was Carney and Joe’s night where they led the crowd.
“I just want to thank everyone who supported our journey and supported us,” Carney said.
Gu told her she had “changed my life”, adding: “To the girls and boys watching at home, dream big, be proud and never give up.”

Another highlight of the night was the Boyband Five performing a series of their songs during the grand final.
Most of the 2025 cast also returned for another routine.
However, social media personality Thomas Skinner did not attend. Speaking earlier today on social media, he claimed the BBC rigged the vote that saw him leave the programme.
A BBC spokesperson rejected the claim, saying Strictly’s public vote was “independently moderated and verified to ensure full accuracy”.
The final finale for Tess and Claudia

In October, Daly and Winkleman made the shock announcement that they would be stepping down at the end of this year’s series.
Daly has presented since the first series 21 years ago. Winkleman joined in 2014, having hosted sister show Strictly It Takes Two since 2004.
It was the last time they would present a Strictly final, and they were both overcome with emotion as they signed on to host the show.
During the live broadcast, as well as the Queen’s tribute, there were messages from TV chef Mary Berry, crew members and fans of the show.
The Queen’s letter said: “I have often thought that Strictly is less a show about dancing than it is about friendships: bonds formed, conflicts overcome, and the joy shared in undertaking a common endeavour.
“If that is true, then yours may be the greatest stern partnership of all time.
“The warmth, compassion and absolute happiness you radiated with each other was at the heart of the show’s success.”
Daly and Winkleman’s last appearance ever on the show will be the Christmas special, which will air on December 25.
